Turnaround is a very personal project that started by showing
the evolution
of my drawing style and became a metaphor for self-development.
I’ve collected and digitalized faces I drew since 2004.
I then ordered them in a specific way to create one motion of continuity.
I overlayed those faces to form a messy black silhouette.
The result are complex portraits composed of different people from different
point in time captured in different drawing style with different emotions.
Turnaround represent now that every experience in life, like meeting new people,
adds up to build a diverse and ever-changing identity.
The project was updated for an exhibition in Seoul.
For the occasion, the rotation was broken up in 6 distinct screen
and 50 more portrait have been added to the artwork.
