Inspired by Roy Lichtenstein’s uses of the american comics’ code to create full blown artwork,
I scouted overlooked panels of japanese mangas to adapt them in bigger proportions,
showcasing the mastery of their composition and establishing their status of art piece.
A lot of panels become iconic to the point of defining pop culture. I took the time to re-create
some of the smaller panel to underline the amount of work put into every panel that create
the story in a comic. This ended up like something similar to Hunter.S Thompson’s retyping of
“The Great Gatsby” to know what it feels like to type a masterpiece. Except it was drawing.
